Fitness Drum produces two types of content: editorial articles and reviews on our blog, and trend intelligence data through our platform. This page sets out the standards and processes we apply to both, and how we ensure that commercial relationships never influence what we publish or surface.
Blog & Editorial Content
Our process
Every piece of content goes through an internal review and fact-checking process before publication. We work with health and fitness professionals to ensure the information we publish is accurate and genuinely useful to our audience.
Product reviews
We have a documented process for how we select, evaluate, and score the products and services we review. We do not accept input, direction, or approval rights from brands in relation to reviews. Our scorecard system is applied consistently regardless of whether we have a commercial relationship with a brand.
Affiliate relationships
Some articles contain affiliate links. A commercial relationship with a brand does not influence whether or how we review or recommend their products. Our Affiliate Disclosure sets out how these relationships work in full.
Platform Data & Methodology
Our trend intelligence platform surfaces data about topics, search behaviour, and social signals relevant to the fitness and health industry. The data we display is drawn from independent, third-party sources — we do not curate or adjust it based on brand relationships or commercial considerations.
Data sources
- Google Trends
Our primary source for search interest and trend trajectory data across topics and regions.
- AI Search Data
Signals from AI-powered search platforms, reflecting how topics are being queried in emerging search environments.
- Social Signals
View and engagement data from platforms including TikTok and YouTube, indicating content interest and audience reach.
Our editorial role in the platform
While the underlying data is objective, editorial judgement is applied in deciding which topics and categories to track, how signals are weighted, and how trends are presented. We apply the following principles to that process:
- Independence Topic selection and categorisation are not influenced by brand relationships, sponsorship, or commercial partnerships. No brand can pay to be featured or ranked more prominently in the platform.
- Transparency We are clear about where data comes from. The sources powering each data point are documented and accessible to platform users.
- Accuracy We present data as accurately as the underlying sources allow. Where data has limitations or caveats, we aim to make those clear rather than overstate confidence in a trend.
- Relevance We focus on signals that are meaningful to fitness and health industry professionals — prioritising depth and context over volume of data points.
Trend data surfaced by the platform reflects what the underlying sources show. It does not constitute an endorsement of any brand, product, or practice by Fitness Drum.
