You know that feeling when you wake up and your body just hurts? Not from anything specific, just from being alive and moving through your day? That was me every morning.
Stiff neck from sleeping wrong, lower back tight from sitting at my desk, shoulders tense from who knows what. Add in any kind of physical activity, and I’d be sore for days.
I’m not an athlete. I go to the gym sometimes, I walk my dog, I do yard work on weekends. Normal stuff. But my body was acting like I’d run a marathon every time I did anything remotely physical.
That’s when I started using red light therapy from Peak Primal Wellness, and honestly, I wish I’d found it sooner. My body just feels better now.
The Everyday Aches We All Experience
Let’s talk about the aches that no one really discusses but everyone feels. There’s the post-workout soreness that lasts way longer than it should. You did a workout on Monday, and by Wednesday you’re still feeling it. That’s not normal soreness. That’s your body struggling to recover.
Then there’s the morning stiffness. You’re not even old, but you wake up feeling like you need to warm up before you can function properly. Your neck is tight, your back is stiff, and getting out of bed feels like more work than it should be.
Desk jobs create their own special kind of pain. Your shoulders are up by your ears, your lower back aches, and your hip flexors are so tight you can feel it when you stand up. Sitting shouldn’t be this painful, but here we are.
And there’s just general body fatigue. You’re tired, but it’s not sleepy tired. Your muscles feel heavy. Everything feels like it requires more effort than it used to. You start thinking maybe this is just what getting older feels like.
How Red Light Therapy Helps Your Body Recover
Red light therapy works by reducing inflammation in your body. When you’re sore or achy, that’s inflammation. The red light helps calm that down naturally, without having to take anything or do anything strenuous.
It also increases blood flow to wherever you point it. Better blood flow means more oxygen and nutrients getting to your muscles and joints. That’s what helps them repair and feel better faster.
Your body already knows how to heal itself. Red light therapy just speeds up that natural process. It’s not adding anything weird or foreign. It’s just giving your cells the energy boost they need to do their job better.
The result is that you feel looser, less tight, and recover faster from whatever you put your body through. Whether that’s a tough workout or just a long day of being on your feet.
My Recovery Routine
I keep things pretty simple. After a workout, I’ll spend 10-15 minutes with the red light on whatever feels sore. Usually that’s my legs and lower back. I just stand there or sit there while it does its thing.
On mornings when I wake up stiff, I use it right away. My neck and shoulders get the most attention because that’s where I hold all my tension. By the time I’m done with my coffee, everything feels looser and more mobile.
